So today, we are headed northwest to a place we don't travel often on this show, and that is Alaska.
Um, this is the gateway to Mount Denali, which is known as the highest mountain in North America, and it's actually a big summer vacation spot in Alaska where tourists go to hike, mountain climb, you know, be outdoors.
But in the winter, when all of the visitors leave, Talkeetna becomes a quiet little spot with a tight-knit community of only about 800 people.
Now, Billy and Linda Correra settled down and built their own little log cabin in the '70s right along a pond.
It's basically this little storybook home, and it's where they raised and homeschooled their kids.
They had two sons and two daughters, one of them being their daughter Bethany.
Now, up until eighth grade, being homeschooled, Bethany hadn't seen much of the world outside of Talkeetna, her little town.
It wasn't until high school, when she stopped being homeschooled and joined the rest of the kids in town, that she kind of, like, broadened her version of life.
She learned how to be self-sufficient because of the way she grew up, and it also made her extremely curious about the world around her.
Bethany knew there was a lot out there that she still needed to explore, and she found a way to do that through the Christian church.
