Firstly, it was the 100th anniversary of the Maserati logo, the famed trident borrowed from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna's Piazza Maggiore.

Mario Maserati, the non-engineer in the family, designed the logo which first appeared on a Tipo 26 in 1926, which finished first in the Grand Prix class at that year's Targa Florio, and it was 9th overall.

Following on from the anniversary of the Trident came the unveiling of two important new supercars, the revised MC20, now called the MC Pura, and the GT2 Stradale.

Club Maserati was also there displaying four heritage cars, a Series 1 Quattroporte and Ghibli from the 60s, a 70s-era Bora and a 90s-era Chamal, and there was also an Indy hidden away in the back as well.

I spoke with Grant Barling, the General Manager of Maserati Australia and New Zealand, and then the owners of three of the heritage cars.

So I start with Grant after he had left the stage celebrating the 100th anniversary.
