The first story that I have for you guys today, I've had so many requests over the past week to cover this story.
What is going on with Australian activewear brand Alure and their co-founders? Okay, before I get started, it was actually really hard to piece together all of this information, so I have taken a lot from, obviously, some primary sources, but others, I'm piecing it together from different TikToks, podcasts, like, people that have covered this.
I have not been able to independently verify a lot of this, of course, but I'm gonna do my best to give you guys, like, a chronological breakdown and explain what's been going on with Australian activewear brand Alure, because they are at the center of a seriously messy co-founder fallout.
Okay, so Alure was founded by best friends Olivia O'Neill and Ebony McLees, and they have built this business together.
However, it seems now that their partnership has imploded after an employee named Mariah, who is also [laughs] this is crazy, the sister of Olivia's on-again, off-again boyfriend, came forward with allegations about Olivia's behavior behind the scenes.
So Alure was founded by Olivia and Ebony in 2021, and last week, their employee Mariah took to social media to share what she alleges has been happening behind the scenes at the company.
According to Mariah's account, tensions have been building for months because Olivia was allegedly putting less effort into the business while prioritizing partying and dating.
Mariah claimed that important work was being neglected, including organizing photo shoots, posting content, launching campaigns, and responding to emails.
She said that Olivia would ask for her task lists and then allegedly become angry when Mariah followed up on what needed to be done.
Mariah also alleged that Olivia had been behaving inappropriately at work and at industry events, including discussing explicit details of her sex life with Mariah's brother, 'cause remember, they were on-again, off-again, and attempting to show Mariah intimate images of him.
But over a period of months, the Liv I knew started disappearing.
Everything I'm speaking about was communicated with her.
Acknowledging your behavior and promising to do better is one thing, but actually changing is another.
I kept believing those words and trying to move forward, but eventually apologies stopped meaning anything.
I didn't give up after one mistake.
I reached my limit after waiting for change that never occurred.
Olivia herself has publicly said-
From party to party, first date to first date, doing anything I could get my hands on to catch the next high.
The brand I had built for five years was put somewhat on the back burner.
You worked for me, so as you're bossing me around and telling me to go home early and do this and do that, I'm like, "No."
Other allegations included Olivia bringing a sex toy to work and showing it to Mariah and Ebony, as well as showing them an intimate video involving herself and her boyfriend.
Olivia reportedly acknowledged the intimate video and sex toy incidents on social media, but characterized them as part of the workplace humor at the time and questioned why they were now being presented as misconduct.
And then conflict allegedly escalated during an Alure warehouse sale when Olivia reportedly refused to help pack orders because her workstation was too close to Ebony's.
