Because God draws near to the church that responds rightly to his correction, we must do everything a joyful church requires of us and pray for everything only God can supply to make it so…

Follow along as I read it for you, starting in verse 11, as a lot of Paul's letters end with this word "finally," and here it comes.

He says, "Finally, brothers," 2 Corinthians, uh, 13:11, "Rejoice." There's the first command.

Live in peace." Now, here's the promise he holds out, "And the God of love and peace will be with you all." Right? Be with you all.

"Greet one another with a holy kiss," which shows up many times in the New Testament.

Verse 13, "All the saints greet you." Remember, he's writing about those saints from Macedonia sending their greetings.

This is coming in the middle of the first century as the Apostle Paul shows this Trinitarian breakdown of this prayer.

"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." This is a great close to a book that's been about a lot of correction, but ends on this very positive note about grace and love and fellowship and how the God of love and peace can dominate this church, but it starts with a summation of five simple commands that, uh, aren't as far, uh, away from us as you might think.

And so let's give a heading to this, and then we'll jump into these five in verse 11.

This is about a fellowship that we would like to be a part of, so let's name it this way.
