So let's jump this month into discussing what CAMWA's Employer of the Day series is.
So Employer of the Day is a little title we've put to it, but basically it's just a recruiting event.
If a company wants to host their job fair or recruiting event at our office, we call it Employer of the Day.
use the table at the front door and set up what they would at a traditional job fair, maybe a tablecloth these days that has their company name on it or one of those banners or balloons, you know, something that kind of draws people to them.
It's a chance to talk to candidates in person, which is rare these days, right? So Candidates are really craving that.
It's a great way to get their name and face in front of a company that maybe they did already apply to or learn about a new company they weren't familiar with or new roles at a company if they did know that company name.
And more importantly, what's the recruiting actual process? So maybe they filled out that online application, but what else happens? What can I expect? Maybe what's tips to getting employed at that particular company?
Well, diving a little deeper, what do participating employers receive when they're the employer of the day?
Some companies, you know, will bring multiple hiring managers and actually do interviews, but more often than not, as I said earlier, using that table at the front door, just a chance to answer candidates' questions one-on-one.
We'd like the companies to do some marketing and promotion as well, but on our end, we ask our social media team to share it out.
There's a TV screen in the lobby that always shows the upcoming employers of the day.
We always put it on there, you know, ways to help draw attention to that event and hope that the candidates the company is looking for, you know, show up that day.
But it's a great chance to answer their questions, as I was saying, maybe learn a little bit more about the job duties and the recruiting process.
And sometimes companies don't realize that their name is just not as known as widely as they think that it might be.
And so it's a great chance to explain what their company does and the types of positions they have open and the great reasons someone should want to work for them.
