My nightmare, unfortunately, is the New York Mets second half beginning with a completely dead season as we were about to go.
I heard a stat the Mets have to go 51 and 15 to finish with 90 wins this season, which I think was kind of like our bar that we were hoping to clear going into the season.
That made me feel
great.
They
have their next like 20 games, 21 games is against their next like four or five series are against like the absolute best in baseball.
we're going to be like 40 games out by the end of this stretch.
And I do want to sincerely shout out the Mets because in the last game of the first half, it was the perfect epitome of what this first half has been.
I don't know if you were watching.
It was a nice Sunday.
I hope people are out doing stuff.
They scored a run in like the first inning.
Then Lindor hit a bomb.
Lindor, two RBIs.
You think he's coming out of it.
Lindor boots a defensive play, messes up a defensive play.
perfect I mean again I've been the biggest Lindor defender in the world but like those mental lapses that he started this season with just never stopped and that was a I mean who cares the season is lost but Taylor made ground ball hit right at you to end the game You blow it, and the team blows it.
Like, you should get absolutely crushed for that if this season mattered even remotely.
If we were even slightly in the hunt and we lost the game that way, I would have been suicidal.
Also, the
Like, there's no world in which you think we were going to win that game, that they're just showing up no batting practice and look like they're fresh.
