It's one of my favorite episodes of the year! In this annual tradition, I'm sharing the books that inspired me, challenged my thinking, made me laugh, let me escape and kept me turning pages long…
This is our second annual book recommendation episode, so if you didn't listen to last year's, I think it was July, July 2025.
I did an episode because I had interviewed a very good friend of mine, Lauren Moore, who's the head of something called Book Huddle, and I'm gonna link this below 'cause it's an amazing place for book recommendations, and she does book retreats, reading retreats.
So I did an interview with her, and a lot of you responded well, and we ended up talking about, you know, maybe we should have a book club, and we talked about books in the comments and in my DMs.
And I kind of talk about actually really general book recommendations on the categories that I read, a lot of authors I like, and then some really specific books of the past couple years actually that have been my favorite.
So that's a really good resource episode to go back to 'cause you'll learn more about just my history with books, my preference on books, but a lot of my favorites really over the past five years.
And so many of you have written to me saying, "Do you have more recommendations? I read a lot from that list." And so yes, we're gonna do this annually.
And if you are listening to this in real time, please know that next week I have such a special episode.
I did a podcast episode with our 13-year-old daughter, who also loves to read.
And so we did a special episode on our favorite books and recommendations for pre-teen and early teen girls, so kind of the middle years, really from third grade, I would say, through middle school.
And we went through all of her favorites and which are a lot of series, a lot of books, and we put them into sections.
She did a really great job kind of recommending them for different ages and how, when themes change.
And so I will link it below, unless you're listening to it in real time, then it hasn't come out yet, but it will come out next week.
I'm gonna try to keep it under a certain amount of time because I really could talk forever and ever about books.
Again, in last year's episode, I went through this, so I won't go through it as in-depth.
But just for some context about, like, me and my opi-- you know, how I like books, I guess my taste in books, and then my habits around books.
I read my entire life, and I have to say it probably started with my parents because they are big readers, so we always had books around the house.
