Robby, can you provide more details on peptides and how these substances are being used today?

Jeremy, the best place to start is by noting that peptides are very similar to proteins.

Both are made up of a series of amino acids, and they support biological functions of the human body.

The biggest difference is the number of these building blocks that are required.

In contrast, proteins, they're massive in size, with hundreds or even more than a thousand amino acids included.

As a result of their size, proteins fold into complex 3D structures, which are central to their function.

Peptides, particularly the very small ones, they tend to be much simpler in structure.

Because amino acids are broken down during the digestive process, most peptides must be injected.

Although, as we've noted in this podcast, there are now GLP-1 pills that can circumvent that restriction.

The six peptides that currently are being recommended, are often promoted by influencers, trainers, and some clinicians to promote longevity, boost overall health, reduce inflammation, improve muscle recovery after exercise, and assist with sleep.

However, so far, there's a paucity of scientific studies to justify these claims, with almost all the evidence coming from animal studies, particularly ones in mice, or small human trials, but without comparable control groups.
