Like, so that's just what happened.

Like, more people died who didn't get the vaccine because the COVID vaccine, the mRNA vaccine saves lives.

And it's like a doctor, like, uh, should, you know, be able to understand that calculation.

And, and what he's doing here by continuing to create doubt about this vaccine and this, like, miracle technology really, um, is he's giving aid and support to the guy confirmed for HHS, RFK, who wants to shut down, you know, additional research funding and additional use of, uh, mR- mRNA vaccines.

And, uh, like, the advancements there could be unbelievable.

I, like we're, I mean, we're seeing, like, some really potentially amazing, um, advancements.

That's true even for the newest modalities.

Gene therapy, gene editing, mRNA, each still has to be engineered disease by disease.

Alterna is testing a different idea, that the real target isn't the gene, but the process of translation itself, where genetic instructions become protein.

The company's lead approach focuses on nonsense mutations, a shared error responsible for roughly a tenth of all genetic disease diagnoses, and asks whether a single engineered molecule could address it across many conditions at once.

Yeah.

So, you know, I think there are probably a number of things that are a part of that.

One, of course, is our understanding of RNAs generally, whether it be mRNA or tRNA, has really exploded over the last, what, decade to two decades.

And so thinking about the One, structural aspects of transfer RNAs or tRNAs, thinking about the chemical modifications, thinking about things like stability, and then ultimately manufacturing and delivery.

Everybody seems to be either fighting over the response or not able to command a response.

Notwithstanding the incredible mRNA vaccines that were created in record time, it's partially, you know, part of it is our business, accentuating the awful and not sort of celebrating because it's not newsworthy, the things that were triumphs.

And then I think you have like gun violence.

I mean, talk about you send your kid to a protected space and just out of the blue, machine gun fire of a kind that would be terrifying on a battlefield is happening in their confined spaces like and now we have ai these are all existential forces that nobody seems to have kind of a grip on which compounds that feeling you're talking about david
