Sean talks about our best look yet as Doctor Doom, courtesy of Andy Park! This episode also covers Joe and Anthony Russo’s recent comments about Doom, Avengers: Doomsday tickets going on sale five…
More on that Later in the show, but I want to start with Avengers Doomsday and specifically what I want to start with from Avengers Doomsday.
Not the only thing I'm going to talk about Doomsday related today, but what I want to start with is the concept art that was shared both online as well as as the Billy Billy World Convention in Shanghai.
But online, the honor of sharing this concept art came from the artist, the former director of visual development at Marvel Studios, the great Andy Park, who got to post it on his socials.
And he said the following along with the art, quote, Avengers Doomsday, the final full film, I had the honor of leading as director of visual development at Marvel Studios.
This illustration commemorates that journey and reveals the characters and their looks for the first time.
I'm really glad that Andy Park had the honor of sharing his own artwork from Avengers Doomsday with this being the last film, the last full film, as he put it, that he led for Marvel Studios.
So presumably that means we will have more of Andy Park's artwork influencing and being part of the visual development of future MCU projects beyond Avengers Doomsday.
Because just starting with this concept art, We start with Doctor Doom, right? We literally start at the center of it with Doctor Doom because this is our best look yet.
Well, unless you were among those fortunate enough to be at CinemaCon back in April and saw the footage from Avengers Doomsday, for the rest of us, This is our best look yet at Doctor Doom, or more specifically, Doctor Doom's mask in Avengers Doomsday, and it is spot on.
You have one of the greatest, most iconic villain designs in the history of not just Marvel Comics, but comics period, and it was perfectly captured, as we see in this concept art by Andy Park just absolutely nailed it.
So hopefully this concept art, as it typically is with Marvel Studios, is a really great representation of what we can expect to see as far as what was worn on set, what was captured in camera, and then will be projected to all of us when we go see Avengers Doomsday or in advance of that when trailers and stuff make their way online, which should be pretty soon based on some other developments that I'll be talking about in this episode of MCU Fan Show.
So I absolutely love this look for Doctor Doom because it is the look for Doctor Doom.
This is the mask as it should look and as it should be worn whenever Doctor Doom is on screen with maybe limited exceptions.
I know that's something that Paul and I have discussed and I'll probably cover that a little bit more based on some other Doomsday news that we got this past week.
But I'll pause on talking about Doctor Doom today just to go through the rest of the characters that we see in the artwork.
