526: Maybe It Doesn't Really Matter

Well, how are the projects coming for the, for the art show?

They are coming along.

I am, um...

We have what we call here in the house family time.

So after work every day, we eat, we watch a show, we hang out in the living room.

And basically, family time is optional right now up until June 20th when the, when the show happens.

So, uh, I've been just plugging away in the, in the evenings and during the day trying to get everything going.

I, I'm s- I still feel like I don't have enough, but it is what it is.

And, ah, yeah.

I'm digging the, the, the hammered steel islands.

Yeah.

Yeah, I'm digging that look.

That seems like something you could turn into, like, bigger pieces of furniture if you keep evolving with that concept.

So what ha- um, that, that's the next video that's coming out.

I think it's coming out on Sunday, so in a couple days for the listeners.

But I took a, a, a slab, a maple slab, and it was towards the, the outer edge of the tree.

So, like, normally this would probably get thrown in the fire, uh, i- in a fire because it's just kind of all gnarly, and I cut out the middle.

Basically, I filled the middle with a bunch of islands of metal, and there's, like, 62 pieces, and they're all kind of odd shaped and then a hammered dimple in there.

And I learned that polishing 62 pieces of metal takes a long time.

[laughs]

So in the garage right now, still in the box, is a brand new sandblaster-

Oh, nice

... because my goodness, that was so much work.

Hmm.

But yeah.
