This week on the M&W podcast we review what we did that wasn't work, the latest economics news, our work of the week and the work we wished we got to but didn't.
So we got the jobs number this morning, still good, like a broken record at this point, chugging along.
We had the ISM PMI survey showing accelerating expansion, but the price portion of the index was the highest in four years almost, of course.
Um, and the employment component of the survey still showed no plans to hire, so strong performance, not expanding workforces, just as we've seen over the past couple months.
And then in Europe, inflation was high, so now no, no rate cuts expected from the ECB at their upcoming meeting.
I, I... you know, this, um, uh, rate hike environment is gonna be really interesting.
It, as we have pointed out before, correlations between things like interest rates and inflation do not have any correlation to the advertising market.
But, you know, I gotta say the economic news I noticed, you know, services growth from, uh, as reported a couple of weeks ago, we're just catching up on a lot of things, up six point two percent right, in the first quarter in the United States, illustrating the ongoing robustness of services.
The SaaSpocalypse will, uh, still be rumored every quarter, but no real evidence of it yet.
Uh, software spending per the services quarterly survey was up a dramatic, where's the number? Twelve point five percent.
Yeah, and, and I think it- it's like any, any one of these new disruptive technologies.
