Hey yall! Happy Monday! Today we discuss April and Savannah and whether you should upgrade their flight, Jacquees gets arrested, Lil Dirk trail pushed back, Jasmine Guy claps back, Daphne Joy, Christa…
Okay, so what I wanna talk about today for the positive affirmation is comparison is the thief of joy.
So bad, and I have to talk about this because I recently went through this, okay? So obviously y'all know a lot of y'all are here because y'all heard about this platform through my other platform, which is Poor Minds, okay? And in the podcasting world right now, podcasting is like the hot thing right now, and I say that because I'm seeing a lot of people get these 50, 60, 70, 80, 100, $150 million deals.
And one thing I will say, y'all, is as a person who has been in this game for a long time, me and Drea have put blood, sweat, tears, everything into our podcast, and I found myself for the past, honestly, few months, and just being, me being transparent right now, and me being honest, I have just been like, "Damn, everybody else getting all this money.
Where my bread at? Where my $100 million deal?" And I've just been, like, looking at other people and just really been hard on myself.
What's wrong with Poor Minds? Why isn't Poor Minds worth this, you know, all this money that the other people are getting that talk about the same thing.
I know y'all finna be in the comments and the people finna clip this, and the incels who don't like us be like, "Well, 'cause you bitches are dumb, and y'all are whores." Whores deserve some money too, okay? Uh, just because we like to hoot and holler don't mean we don't deserve the funds that everybody else is getting.
And at the same time, though, I realized someone else's success does not make my progress less meaningful.
I can celebrate what's happening for other people and still enjoy where I'm at, and I always say this.
I'm like, "Lex, you know better," because I always say, "If you don't clap for other people, it'll never be your turn," but I'm a human being, you know? And in that moment, I really had to stop myself 'cause I'm like, "Bro, if you see people getting blessed, your blessing is not far.
Keep going." The reason you not enjoying your food, I have a motherfucking juicy-ass steak on my plate, and I'm over here looking at somebody who got a buttery lobster.
You know what I'm saying? You have to enjoy what's in front of you and what you're doing.
So I was like, you know what? I literally got in my car, and I tried to start it, and it didn't start, and you know what I did? I laughed, 'cause it was actually really fucking funny to me.
