A Mother’s Story: Losing a Son to Fentanyl

So August was Overdose Awareness Month, and that is the reason that we have our guest today.

Thank you for having me.

It's an unfortunate situation, though, that you did lose your son to an overdose.

But you're wanting

to talk about that.

I do I want to and I want to talk about the fact that it was a poisoning versus overdose.

Okay, that's important to me.

Just because he was even though he had relapsed.

He was not he wasn't doing fentanyl.

He had like three times the lethal dose in his system.

And his that was not his choice of drug.

So overdose is where somebody is knowingly doing fentanyl and they take too much.

The poisoning is when he thinks he's taking some other kind of drug, Xanax or something, and it's laced with fentanyl.

Yep.

And unfortunately, that's a problem that's far too widely seen right now.

And I say right now, it's been going on for a few years now to where officials have been saying, be careful, be careful.

Just the smallest amount of fentanyl is laced in with other drugs or other medicines.

And people don't know what they're buying.

They pop the pill and.

It's a fentanyl poisoning.

So let's start with, tell me about your son.
