Yeah.

So I covered Denny Green and Tony Dungy, and Denny Green was an offensive-minded head coach who had a lot of success.

Uh, let's not diminish what he did.

He had a lot of success.

Uh, but Tony Dungy was an obvious head coaching candidate.

Uh, went longer than he should have without a head coaching job.

When he finally got one, he won a Super Bowl.

Mm.

Uh, then we have Brad Childress, offensive-minded head coach from another good program.

Uh, he ends up having a defensive coordinator named Mike Tomlin.

Now, different thing, Tony Dungy was proven a, a great defensive coordinator over a long period of time, lots of accomplishments.

Mike Tomlin was only here one year, and he was a defensive coordinator on a bad team.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, the defense was okay, but, you know, you had to have some imagination to see that he'd be a head coach.

But that off season, he goes and interviews with the Steelers, almost...

It felt almost like a token interview because they had, like, two Steelers legends were, seemed to be the, in the forefront for, uh, for getting the head coaching job.

Mm-hmm.

And Mike Tomlin goes in, blows them away in the interview, gets the job, wins the Super Bowl.

And Brad Childress and Denny Green did not win Super Bowls.

They lost NFC Championship games when, with their best teams in excruciating fashion.

Yes.

So, so here we have Kevin O'Connell, offensive head coach, hires Brian Flores.

Now Brian Flores's defense is the strength of the team, and it's not close.

Uh, Brian Flores should be a head coach.

He probably will get a head coaching job this winter.
