Ethan does an AMA with live and user-submitted questions! (00:00) Intro & Overcoming the Fear of Being Seen (01:41) Tonight's Focus: Viewer Q&A (03:18) A Typical Day of Meals & Avoiding Food…
So the first question we have is, "What does a typical day of meals look like for you? How do you keep variety to keep it from being boring?" Uh, a typical day of meals for me is I almost always start out my day with whey protein and water, and I like a double scoop of whey protein, so I'm getting fifty grams of protein almost immediately.
I go to the gym, I come home, and a typical meal will be lean ground beef or chicken or fish, some vegetables, and rice.
Some kind of a protein source, some kind of a vegetable source, and some kind of a starch.
Um, I will occasionally have bread, but I would say 70% of my meals have rice in them.
Uh, and I'll eat three more of those throughout the day and have another protein shake, and that's pretty much how I eat every single day.
Um, the way I keep it from being boring is I made a deck of cards with flavor profiles on them, so there'll be like an Italian, a Cajun, a Greek, a Spanish, um, a Japanese, a Chinese, and [laughs] I, I, I literally just draw one of those cards and go, "Okay, this is what the m- the protein's being flavored with today.
Today, we're doing Japanese," or, "Today, we're doing Greek." Um, and I found that's really helpful because if you, if you're eating the same thing over and over, which my meals do often look very similar, you know, the plate has a protein, a veggie, and a starch on it, um, flavoring them differently is super helpful.
Uh, so that's how I keep it from being boring, and that's, that h- that's how I tend to eat.
The next question is, "How much cardio do you do a week? What is a typical workout for you?" For many years, I mean, if we go back far enough, there was a long time where I only did cardio.
I did lose weight doing that, but the minute I stopped riding bikes, the weight came right back.
Um, and then I started lifting weights, and I didn't do any cardio for, for a long time.
And last year, I started doing a hybrid, so now I do two days of cardio a week and four days of weights, and the cardio I do is primarily, um, on a, a rowing machine.
I don't like really doing sprints, but I like to do, you know, 60 to 70 minutes of zone two cardio twice a week.
