There's a movie called What About Bob that goes into this in depth.
Chase HughesHOST
8:33
Bob in the movie pretends like he's having a heart attack, pretends like he's having Tourette's syndrome.

Melissa VillaseñorHOST

[laughs] Um, and then we watched What About Bob with Bill Murray, and I really enjoyed that movie.
Melissa VillaseñorHOST

That was great.
Melissa VillaseñorHOST

Graham CookeGUEST

And the opening scene is simply Bob who has loads of phobias, loads of issues.
Graham CookeGUEST

And I would be very rem- remiss to not mention a man who is playing, I think, five roles in this movie.
Paul RootHOST
31:26
James Todd Smith as LL Cool J, as Sherman Dudley, as the preacher, as Chef.
Todd LiebenowGUEST
19:20
... which, of course, I'm in favor of 'cause of his Muppet connection there.
Todd LiebenowGUEST

that's one of the other things I'm coming back super conflicted by, like, for as much as I tried, you know, for as much as this was supposed to be a vacation, I feel like a lot of, you know, like, in What About Bob, it's like, take a vacation from your problems, I feel like I took a vacation, but my problems came along with me, like, I was never, never able to fully let go, and I almost wonder if part of it is because of all this kind of, like, fucking shitty, immature, high school-ish bullshit was going on, you know what I mean, like, and, and if somebody that usually is, like, a very big support system for me, um, and almost from the way she behaved, I almost wonder, I'm like, you know, when they start, when they say, not they, it's even, like, this is what is, like, a truth, people who are not on the same page as you people who are not going to be a positive force you're supposed to start distancing you know you're supposed to distance yourself from them because you don't want their to start pulling you down and polluting your atmosphere especially if you're someone who's been doing work for several years now to course correct and fix your life I mean the fact that like this trip wasn't cheap I almost wasn't able to go part of me has I would say I can't say a hundred percent that I don't have any regrets about going I'm glad I went but like You know, had I been able to see it through a crystal ball into the future that there was going to be this kind of awkward oddness, maybe it would have been worth saving the money and just going to my parents' place for a week and going to the beach every day.
Dave MarescaHOST
26:48
It's still a little bit different.
Dave MarescaHOST
26:49
Like my parents, if you want to go to the beach, you've got to get in the car and drive 15 minutes to get there.
Josh DugganHOST
28:58
He also appeared in two episodes of the original series, two criminal intents and one trial by jury.
Josh DugganHOST

Josh DugganHOST

Josh DugganHOST
29:11
He died last summer.
TonyHOST
38:40
oh um killing of a sacred deer
Brandon FordHOST
38:43
yes his character groundhog day was his favorite movie but i've heard other people say that it's groundhog day is either their favorite movie or their favorite bill murray movie and i never really saw the appeal i mean i did see it and i thought it was fine Um, but I prefer, like, What About Bob?
TonyHOST
39:05
Oh, yeah.
Brandon FordHOST
39:05
To, uh, Grandma Day.
Shauna BorenHOST
33:38
It's about moving in that direction step by step.
Shauna BorenHOST
33:44
One of my favorite movies, and it's an old one, so I may be dating myself, but it's What About Bob? And there's this neurotic little dude, and he's like, baby step, baby step to the door, baby step through the door.
Shauna BorenHOST
33:56
And it's hilarious, but it is really actually quite apropos because so many times, and we're going through it, If we're not wanting to get stuck in it, we just got to baby step and just keep going and keep persevering.
Shauna BorenHOST
34:10
Persevering through the overwhelm.
