Roger WallaceGuestPanosHostAnd do you aspire to work more in behavior mod or staying within like obedience training?

I think behavior mod because that's what got me into it was trying to figure out my dog and all the struggles that I went through with her trying to like you know like Looking back, you know, like probably all my dogs, they had like a little bit of reactivity at some point in their life.

And then you go like, why don't, if you don't know what it is, you're just like, oh, he's just, you know, he's protecting me or he's doing this or he's doing that.

And all the different things that people say to themselves when the dog's like having a hard time.

And then like once I kind of knew about it and then I saw like a display, I was like, oh no, I don't know what to do now.

And then going out and then trying to find somebody and then literally like everybody I found had a different, you know, a different style, a different method, a different methodology, a different everything.

And so, and I probably needed all of them to kind of like be where I am now, but it, it was rough going when you're like, I'm not seeing progress.

I'm not seeing like any changes and I'm, you know, we're out time more than anything.

Like, we worked together for six months, you know, I'm mad about the money, but I'm more mad about the six months.

Um, and then, you know, and, and, but like progress is a linear and you can't always measure it, you know, and if you don't know what you're looking for and I feel like I do my homework, you know, I always felt like I did my homework.

Um, But it's also, I think the way we communicated of like what our needs were and, and, and, and part of that, you know, part of the dog is like, that's who she is.

She's a little bit forward, you know, when she's challenged or unsure, she's a little bit forward.

Um, and then there's this whole other piece of it that like she was sick, you know, like, uh, she had a rough go for a bit.

And so like when she got sick, she was like, didn't feel good, but it took me like going to conference and sitting in a, uh, a presentation about, you know, gut health to realize like, you know, like her guts kind of messed up and like, when you got diarrhea for weeks on end, like that affects your behavior, you know, like I don't get enough sleep.

I'm a little bit irritable too, you know? Um, and then also asking the dog to do things that maybe it's not, you know, that it doesn't enjoy because like, I want you to go with me and do this thing.
