My journey began when I was 17 and decided I wanted to join the Army for the summer.

Trying to figure out what am I going to do with my career or my life? Do I want to do this all the time or do I want to have, as we say in Canada, a foot in the canoe and a foot on the shore? So I had an army career on one hand and I wanted a civilian career.

And so I thought, you know, I want to get into training because I do a lot of that.

And of course, as you know, there's always that ongoing thing of, we'll hire you when you have more experience.

Well, how do you get more experience if we don't hire you? So anyway, I tried a bunch of different things.

Primarily because one of the things that I got involved in my work as a trainer, as a corporate trainer was how people think and how do you direct people's thinking in order to deliver outcomes? And that was actually why I was hired into foresting company.

And in that career, you know, Foresting Company started off by doing leadership training and then expanded into executive coaching.

And one of the things that we learned, and I certainly learned, is leadership.

no matter how much sunshine you pump into a leader to get them ready, they run smack into a wall, which are the systemic issues inside the organization.

And so we have an extensive consulting practice around articulating strategy.
