So let's jump into a conversation about why bringing these worlds together really matters.
What are you seeing in schools around mental health, belonging, confidence, connection, and purpose? And what do you think kids need today that schools simply can't be expected to provide alone?
And what we have seen, probably since COVID, is a significant increase in isolation of children, an increase in mental health needs, an increase in what we call the cat team calls.
where we're calling the crisis response team on a regular basis because kids are suicidal.
So the Team Kids program gives them that opportunity to belong, to build those relationships, to build friendships that they wouldn't normally build with children.
And it brings them together to give them something to do and during a time that might be a little unstructured during the school day.
And when I heard it was during the school day, it's like, nope, we got to protect our instructional time.
And it's not something that takes away from the instructional time for children, and it gives them something to do that is somewhat structured, which is really exciting for us.
I mean, we want to have them involved in something that is purposeful, building those friendships, putting that connection together, and helping them serve their school.
There was conversations last year about continuing through the rest of the year.
Now that they started it, can we meet at least once a month? Can we please get back together? And that's the exciting piece.
