Vista Verde School

And I think developmentally, our kids usually know they're cared for, but they don't always know they're needed.

And so back 25 years ago, March 2001, I had the privilege of working with Dr. Jean Milan at Vista Verde in California, in Irvine, and I had an idea of running this six-week program where we could bring every child together to be on the same team to effect change and essentially learn about homelessness and hunger in Orange County.

It's called the Team Kids Challenge.

At the time it was Kids Helping Kids, but in fact what we do all the way from Irvine now to Harlem is very similar, the Team Kids Challenge.
