The History of Saturday Afternoon Footy on TV - 'Know Your History' with Shannon Gill.
So what happens is VFL is a little bit, a little bit tentative about how we do this.
They want, they see it as something that we could, uh, we could steal a march on the VFL.
So what happens is that at 10 past four on a Saturday, each station... breaks into their programming and says, we're going live to the Junction Oval or wherever they are.
When they did the deal, there was a bit of a thing about that every league ground must be telecast from once during the season, except in the case of Geelong where extreme technical difficulties arise.
Live on the ABC all afternoon, on a Saturday afternoon, the district cricket final was broadcast live on the ABC.
