And we've got part one of this.
Max,
at what event would you usually find an opera about mushrooms, aeronautical paper projectiles, someone, an official delegate from Wikipedia making live updates, and 300 trillion Zimbabwean dollars?
Sounds like someone who could be at 488.
It's something that we at this show look forward to every single year.
Last Friday, a collection of the world's finest minds gathered in Zurich for the best annual night of science.
That is right, everyone.
It is time for the Ig Nobels.
Not the Nobels.
Why would we care about those? The Ig Nobels are from this magazine called the Annals of Improbable Research.
It's Research that makes you go, ha ha, what the hell? But then also have an important finding and actually are good science.
There have to be somewhat good science behind it, but it has to make you giggle.
And from what I know, it was a bit of like a giggle, a laugh event.
It was done by some sort of group, and now it's become a big event that happens every year.
It actually has been held in Boston since then, but this year they moved to Zurich in Switzerland.
They have moved to Europe and said they will not return to America for the foreseeable future until it becomes a safe place for everyone to get to.
So that is an interesting update about the Ignobells.
They're now European.
But today you're going to hear a little bit about just some of the marvellous science that was honoured by paper planes and Zimbabwean dollars, and my favourite, surprisingly.
was this
the economics prize yeah
Perfect.
Yes.
