If someone were to come up behind you at the checkout line and ask you that same question, what would you say about it? All things considered, would you say, in my life, I'm ahead, I'm behind, Maybe trying to break even? When it comes to your life, are you ahead? Are you behind? Are you blessed? Are you struggling to get by? What would your answer be? I think for a lot of people that you meet out and about, I don't think this lady's unique.

And I think if you talk to people you find in the church, a lot of them would sadly say, you know what, I feel like I'm behind.

And here's the good news for every believer and follower of Jesus, the good shepherd.

And the outcome of following me, he said, is that you will have life and have it more abundantly.

But to catch you up on the 23rd Psalm, what we've looked at so far, we're still in verse one.

We're going word by word and we're taking our time, but we've learned a few things about the Psalm.

We've learned that it's what's called a trust Psalm, that it's designed to help people like instill trust in the believer that we would trust in God.

And we learned that this psalm is written by King David, the giant slaying, kingdom building, songwriting, psalm writing David that we find in the Bible.

And we looked at verse one in the first word of verse one, where he says, the Lord is my shepherd.

And we realized it's not just a generic term for the Lord, but he used God's divine name.
