In the early years in Drayton Valley, my garage was both my sanctuary and my prison.

Every 15 minutes or so, I'd get up, stomp another empty beer can flat, toss it in the bin, and crack the next one.

I prayed regularly, repented often, and promised Him, one day I am going to smarten up, Lord.

Another case of beer, another cloud of smoke, another prayer that seemed to bounce off the garage ceiling.

Jesus said, He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does not obey the Son will not see life.

I was living proof that it's possible to believe in Jesus and yet not obey Him.

When that happens, you have eternal life, but you can't see it manifesting anywhere in sight.
