I actually just heard, and I don't quote me on this, but talking to a PA who said that she heard that now pediatric oncologists are actually not required to have any hours of nutrition, even as an elective.
I know this is a whole nother tangent, but I spoke at a cancer thing about 18 months ago and I was on a panel.
And it was an audience full of people dealing with cancer that could ask questions to this panel of nutritionists, doctors.
And they asked one of the doctors, like, what do we know about the gut and helping with cancer? And he was like, we know nothing about it.
And I was like, are you kidding me? I cannot believe you are saying this as a doctor.

I mean, again, to their credit and point, they're not taught this, right? And I always tell families, like, you need to understand your oncologist didn't go to medical school and decide to work with pediatric cancer for fun.

They have a true heart and passion, but they're so limited on their knowledge.

When we were diagnosed, so remember, I'm walking into this as a functional practitioner, and I literally asked our oncologist, can you tell me what food plan? Because I'm kind of thinking, well, cancer is different, so I'm sure they have a good food plan.

And that's when he literally said to me, Susan, it doesn't matter what he eats.
