Spoked Z and Hoppy talk about the GONGSHOW Preseason Finale, Brock Faber's injury, the Minnesota Wild pursuit of Dylan Larkin, Quinn Hughes' contract extension, Adam Larsson leveling up, and the Iowa…
Spoked ZHostVery funny to me how seemingly no one on the Minnesota Wild broadcast knew how to pronounce Rieger Lorenz.
I really enjoyed that throughout the preseason.
Also, just have to give continued shout outs to Lorenz, who I think he's just going to be the unofficial mascot of this show.
Yeah.
He rocks so much, and I do think it's not long before we see him in the bottom six for the Minnesota Wild.
Quicker than I expected.
I thought he was going to cook for a couple of years down in Iowa.
I think later this year or sometime next year, the boy's coming up and he's not going back.
Yeah.
Yeah, no, I mean, he was unbelievably impressive.
Yeah, a small sample.
Like, I could very much be wrong, but right now I'm riding high on it and feeling real good about Rieger Lorenz.

Like, we obviously got really excited a couple years ago with Adam Beckman, like, leading the preseason at scoring.
very well ends up going back down

um but that being said it's completely different like player different kind of a performance from lorenz where it's not just him like showing flashy offensive ability like he did make a couple plays obviously put up a couple points but it was like the all-around play the positioning um and like the hockey
profile right like right he's he's a bottom sixer that can add flashes of skill where beckman it's like he's got to score goals or he's not gonna fit

right so i think it's like different than when we were all hyped over the Beckman preseason performances.

Like you said, unexpected that he was able to just jump in and look like he fit in in the preseason.

Again, like certain... games there's different rosters you're going up against or whatever but uh no he was just really impressive and kind of spoke to like his career Denver too like the evolution of the player not just a guy that's gonna like make flashy plays score goals but he's gonna be out there playing really solid defensive hockey making good decisions being able to affect the game in all three zones and on both specialties so it was really impressive uh very mature performances from him so it was awesome to see
