President Sarama Polis has authorised the deployment of 510 Defence Force soldiers to Guzula Natal, this amid anti-immigration protests in Durban.
The deployment, at a cost of R34 million, is part of Operation Prosper and will run until 30 November.
In big news here at home, Tuanime Anasipi Moyo says the city will take action against officials found negligent in the water contamination crisis in Bronco Sprates.
She visited the area and said internal and external investigations would examine chlorine shortages as well as communication failures.
Moyo says the findings will determine accountability as well as including possible dismissals.
The external investigation will also be able to make sure that there is a documented cause communication in terms of what has happened, then we'll know who must be fired.

And part of it was the issue of investing in our infrastructure.
Casanzo, meanwhile, says a new municipal funding model is needed to ensure the revised white paper on local government succeeds in stabilising and rebuilding municipalities.
The document proposes, among others, interventions to improve local governments and ensure communities receive municipal services.
Casanzo spokesperson Matthew Parkes.
There is a need for government to be capacitated to intervene timeously and to have enough early warning mechanisms in place to know when local government is in trouble and to be able to act in sufficient time.
So the White Paper is positive, but we need to see it combined with real action, including, as Treasury raised the flag correctly earlier this year, to make sure municipalities pay their financial obligations on time.
The DA's Ward 15 Council in Mombella says better control of municipal spending could free up money for basic service delivery.
The ARIC says over time, expenditure needs to be reviewed.
Zengisa Chirwa
Media reports in 2023 show that Mombella was still spending about 14 million rand a month on overtime.
ARIC says cutting back on excessive overtime could free up money for essential repairs, including potholes and broken streetlights.
If you look at our overtime, it's Enormous.
If we can cut down over time, we can fill out all our potholes and our streetlights.
But yes, over time is also an accessory, I do agree, but only in certain areas, not to the extent that over time is at the moment.
Rick says responsible budgeting is key to addressing service delivery problems in the city.
