GOLD STANDARD is taking bluegrass music to an entirely new level

Well, when this all came together, what were you all thinking after the first time you played together? I mean, whether that was a rehearsal or what? I mean, did it feel pretty organic in the way that you all meshed?

Yeah, absolutely.

We all come from different places in terms of our musical background, but it just seemed like a timing thing where the fact that we all met up in the way we did and everyone in this band is very, I think polite is the wrong word, but we all listen, we all listen to each other and we all listen for our spaces where we need to be and where we need to leave.

space.

And we're just very conscientious.

Maybe that's a better word.

Yeah, conscientious about that.

And the fact that, you know, we have these skills where we can overplay over songs if we wanted to, but instead, we're choosing to honor the music.

And it was just a it was just a fit.

You know, everybody probably arrived at this moment in the right headspace.

And it was great.

Well, since proof is in the pudding, let's listen to the title track from your EP called Better Than These Days.

Give listeners a background of the song.

Okay.

It is kind of funny.

So we wrote magic spell and in the band practice, I think we all looked at each other.

We were like, Oh my God.

Like, I don't know.

Y'all didn't look around and be like, that's, that's going to be all right.

Yeah.

So I was like, Oh my God, we better get some more songs for Kate to sing.

Cause I was kind of singing a lot of the songs cause I'd written them.

And so I went home and.

That kind of came to me.

It's you know, we're trying to be super positive.
