The problem with Champions League fixtures when you are working in America is that they are always during the workday.
then you're following on your phone trying to understand the score of the game and when you see you lose to nothing to real madrid it's very hard to find the motivation to go back and watch that game for fun so i have not watched it i've seen the highlights i will try and fold some questions into jay about that game because really i think the storyline this is going to be a little bit of a negative episode i'm going to warn you in advance but The storyline for the week right now is the amount of goals we've conceded.
When you think about it, two against Napoli, two against Real Madrid, and now three against Udinese, they're really starting to pile up.
My question for Jay is going to be about the root cause of these and how much these are correctable.
Because when Kivu talks post-game, he says these are not systematic issues.
These are individual errors.
And they can fix individual errors.
And that makes them think that, okay, there's a path forward to us being better.
I don't know if I agree with his sentiment, though, that these are individual errors.
Like, I get it's okay, like...
But it just feels like under Kivu, we're trying to play a more modern, free-flowing football.
We're just setting ourselves up, putting ourselves in positions to concede more goals.
I don't love the overall sloppiness of the defending.
Obviously, I saw the highlights from the Real Madrid game, and it sounded like, looked like the goals Real Madrid had came from close to nothing.
But then you also watch the second-half highlights, and they had three, four really good chances to score, and Joseph Martinez stood on his head in order to stop them.
So overall, when I think about this defensive setup, I think there's a few reasons for concern.
And this is why I'm not overly elated against about our, you know, five, three win over Regina's age.
It's like you're starting to see the cracks in the foundation, which is okay.
He picked up his first muscle injury.
Not surprised by that.
