Is Red Tape Killing Victoria’s Housing Dream?

Kate was definitely there.

We had the unfortunate circumstance of not having Allen Iverson show up to a creative show.

The famous no show at creative show.

He didn't show up.

It went viral and all the rest of it.

But one thing that I did learn in that, you know, in part of my preparation, because I was going to interview Allen in our balaclava side on our rooftop, we had a basketball court there.

He said there's a billion people that love me and there's a billion people that hate me.

Yeah.

So I think Marco, that's what's ringing through my head as you're talking, you know, I have conviction that Jess can get it done.

But for every one that I am, there's another person that is in complete extreme opposites, right? And so we get into this massive gridlock of, to your point, for the sake of just being difficult, I'm going to go the other way, right? And so I say to anyone listening at the moment, I understand ego.

Yeah.

I've played on sports teams, not at top top league, but you know, big V. I've watched Shaq, who's a friend of mine and Kobe, the late Kobe Bryant.

You know, we've seen egos like Allen Iverson and people like Tom Brown.

I get ego.

I get it, you know, even in the working place.

But if we could just remove that just for half a beat, just half a beat, and we can reflect on our situation that we are in as Victorians right here, right now.

And if you can honestly say, and this is for people to reflect on for themselves, this is not me trying to create an outcome here.

that we are in a better place because of the leaders we have in today, then please go ahead and continue to vote in that way.

If you think that times are really tough and you're not taking home your full paycheck and things are surging like crazy, whether it's gas, electricity, whether it's petrol, whether it's mortgage, maybe we should put our ego to one side, yes, I'm not talking about me.

One person has voted Labor all their life and they can't bring themselves to voting for anyone else.

If you could just reflect on, are we in a better place? And should that vote be ticked in favor of keeping the people in power that we currently have? I just ask you to just reflect and put your ego to one side and just really, really look in and say, is my family better off because of the circumstances that we're in? And if they're not, then I beg you, not desperately, but desperately beg you to just consider an alternative.

I'm not steering you towards one person over another.

I'm just asking you to consider an alternative because maybe, just maybe, and I've seen this in basketball, There's an amazing clip of a kid that's got down syndrome.

He rode the pine, as in sat on the bench the whole season.
