How did that collaboration come about? And I'd love to know how you approached the tracks.

It's because him and another guitar player... uh, guy from, from South Africa, they had reached out to me about doing some music.

And they, they were on tour and I said, sure, you know, I'm teaching in LA at the time, just come by the school.

And then they came by and we, we, you know, we, we said, hello, we met, we made some tea.

And literally the very first thing we ever played, we recorded, um, And they sent me a recording of it afterward, and we were all like, this is not bad.

So then we met at the college, my music school, the Ali Akbar College, my family's school, and we recorded three more tracks.

And we didn't release it because we were supposed to go on tour next month, the three of us, but Guy couldn't make it over.

And he showed me an African tune from an artist or maybe one he had done and It was literally like, here's the theme or here's the line in 30 seconds, you know? And then he hit record and we just played.
