Learn how to witness more effectively and revolutionize your approach to evangelism.
Can a person be saved any time they want to? And what must a lost person do with their sins before they receive Jesus Christ as their personal savior? And why is it that so often we share the Word of God with someone and they refuse to accept Jesus Christ as their savior? And how is it that some people can listen to the Word of God over and over and over again and reject the Word and the message of Jesus Christ? Well, we're in a series on the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer, and the title of this message is The Holy Spirit Convicting the Unbeliever.
This is the one message in the series that I want to deal primarily with how the Holy Spirit works in the life of the unbeliever.
But if you are a Christian, if you are a believer, you'll understand, and it will equip you better in your witness to those of your friends or your loved ones who've never trusted Jesus Christ as their savior.
And Jesus gives that message in the 16th chapter of John, if you'll turn there, if you will.
And very specifically, He describes for us the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a person who is an unbeliever.
So John chapter 16, remember that Jesus is in the upper room, and the atmosphere is one of instruction and encouragement to them because He's gonna be crucified the next day.
And all through these chapters of 14, 15, 16, we find His continued references to the work of the Holy Spirit.
And so He says in verse 7 of John 16, "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away.
And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.
Concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me, and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer behold Me, and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now." In this passage, Jesus tells us the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the unbeliever.
