Season 2 is here! Most of us are building a life without ever stopping to ask if it's the one we actually want. Sahil Bloom did the math and changed everything in…
Sahil BloomGuestSo I do think we're at this inflection point in our lives and you saying like taking control of your life.
I think that's something that we honestly kind of forget that we have that agency in some capacity and whether it's like, you know, friends that have been at jobs for 10 years and they don't even know like what the next step would be if they did something different.
And you can make these small adjustments to your life to have like so much more joy in your day to day and not feel like you're getting stuck in like the monotony of doing what you think you're supposed to do because you're supposed to do it because that's what society says.

I mean, number one, nothing has to be as dramatic as the story that I just told.

There was no reason that it had gotten to the point where I was only seeing my parents once a year.

we could have made four to six trips per year, and that would have felt dramatically different.

There were tiny actions that we could have taken all along that journey to avoid that gap between our priorities that I talked about getting quite as large as it had.

And so what I encourage everyone to do when they hear these ideas is not to say, what is the unbelievable like rip the bandaid off enormous change that i can make because let's be honest a that's really scary and b it's not a change that most people can just make on a dime like that it has to be that you start with the tiny little actions the one tiny thing that you can do differently tomorrow that will compound over 100 days or over a year into something that feels really different.

The second thing I would say to all of this is just learn to reject the false dilemmas in life.

There are so many things that the world has convinced you are fundamentally on opposite ends and you have to choose one, right? Like there are all of these things that get painted to you.

Like you have to either pursue an incredible career or an incredible family life.
