Again? How many people have told us that now? Seven? Eight? Either Hitler was
a historically terrible soldier or a symptom of shell shock is chronic opportunism.
I mean, who's the bigger villain, Hitler or the twelve guys that didn't shoot him? If
we know it isn't true, then why are we running it on Friday? Because it'll play.
Have you ever been approached by someone who enlisted because of us? I reject the premise.
Let's say little Johnny hears our program, signs up and gets Swiss cheesed in Provence.
Who's to say little Johnny wouldn't have seen a poster later that very same day, or heard a moving speech, or noticed a Mussolini-shaped cloud that made his blood boil? And those wouldn't have been the things to push him over the fence? We might swat down some fence sitters, Penn, but we aren't missionaries.
