Dr. Massabsha is the chair of radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and he is a neuroradiologist with a specialty in neurovascular imaging, and he also worked specifically on contrast dosing and was very active a- at the time regarding contrast dosing, contrast utilization, standardization, proper usages, e- et cetera.
Very excited to be here and to be talking to you about, about this topic in terms of contrast utilization.
I understand there's some, uh, surfing episodes you may or may not want to share with us.
But tell us a little bit about your, your background, where you're from, how did you get interested in this, e- et cetera.
Um, moved around a little bit, uh, lived on the East Coast for a bit, but then prior to coming to UAB, I spent, uh, 12 years on the West Coast in Seattle.
And so had, had a couple opportunities to go out, uh, surfing and, and certainly enjoyed that while maintaining my roots in terms of interests of outdoor activities with hiking and, and, uh, snowboarding, um, and maintaining an, an active role in that.
Um, as I mentioned, I did spend, uh, close to 12 years out in Seattle, um, and, and really enjoyed life there, but now adjusting to a very different climate down in, uh, Birmingham, Alabama, with, uh, you know, with a, with a different, uh, you know, geographical and, and demographic distribution, but, but really lo- loving, uh, life down here and, and really getting to know the community.
Well, I understand that if you are from Seattle, it's very similar to Pittsburgh in that when we see that bright yellow thing in the sky, we don't know what it is, and we think that the gods are punishing us for some reason.
But I- I'm afraid that where you are right now, um, you probably have a whole lot of sun.
