Yeah, I mean, I've just kind of always been interested in performing and, and being on stage, like, since I was basically old enough to talk, and music has always just been sort of, like, a pretty central part of my life.
Mm.
Like, I liked playing guitar, but I wasn't really, like, like a ner- Like, I wasn't, like, excited about it in the same way.
And then once, once I discovered songwriting, that's sort of when it kind of, kind of clicked for me.
I've always had a band or some sort of outlet to, to perform, and yeah, it's sort of, it's more of a compulsion than anything else.
[laughs] Right.
And, like, at s- that young age of when, you know, kids are playing ball or, like, you know, running around outside, what was that drive for you to, to wanna write songs?
Um, my, uh, my guitar teacher at the time, I remember when I was, like, 11, sort of said...
Well, he, he taught me, like, chords and how to finger pick and stuff and, and he was sort of like, "Well, I've kinda taught you everything, everything I, uh, about guitar that I could teach you, so why don't you try writing a song, see what happens?" And sort of from there, uh, that was around the same time I started playing with some friends in elementary school.
We had, like, started a little, you know, stupid little band and, and it kinda just, I don't know.
Hmm.
Hmm.
And that was the always the desire to kind of be in front of people as well? Like, that-
... came along with the whole-
I, I did a lot of, I did a lot of, like, theater and, like, musical theater as a kid, and I was kind of always, always interested in getting in front of people.
Right.
