And he's an artist who has survived the extra day jobs, the manager ripping them off, money losing tours, only to find a greater sense of purpose through meaningful collaborations in various forms of authentic art and community.

Uh, some friends of mine, uh, who are also musicians who I look up to very much, um, one of them just, like, texted me out of the blue being like, "Hey, I'm listening to your record right now while I'm cleaning my house, and I really like it," and blah, blah, blah, and I was sort of like, all of a sudden I was like, "Huh, people listen to my music.

That's-- Okay." And then, and then, um, Gavin, who is-- who produced the record, he's a friend of mine, um, and he plays in an amazing band called Moon River, and he was in a band called The Wooden Sky back in the day, which was a big band for me in high school, and so I really look up to him, and he sort of texted me one day just being like, "Have you written any new songs? I'm trying to do some production stuff and would love to work together." And I said, "No," and he said, "Well, I'm sure you have voice memos, so send them to me." And then basically he-- I did, and then he kind of basically was like, "Well, if you can fly yourself to Toronto, just stay with me for a couple days and we'll just see what happens in the studio." And so from there, this record kind of all of a sudden became a, a little, a little seed in my brain, and then from those sessions kind of grew out more ideas, and then all of a sudden I was, I was flying up to Winnipeg and we sat in the studio for a week and, and made a record.
