So I'm Black American, if you did not know, because now you know.

And this holiday is just truly so special to me.

Juneteenth is not only a day to commemorate the ending of slavery, like many of us believe.

Juneteenth is the day that the white people in Galveston, Texas were physically forced to finally free their enslaved people.

The story is a whole lot more complex than just one sentence.

But for that, I did include some links and resources in the description box of this podcast episode.

So that way you can go ahead and do a little bit more research, watch a couple of videos.

So that way you can get the full information.

Because honestly, with me, it's like playing a game of telephone.

You might not get the right information.

It'll be like half right, but not all the way right.

Being a Black American lesbian is truly one of my greatest honors in this life.

It's really like the Holy Trinity because I'm Black, I'm a woman, and I'm a lesbian.

Honestly, I don't think it can get any better than that.

It feels like almost when the macaroni and cheese touches the collard greens.

I would have said yams there, but personally, I don't like yams or sweet potatoes.

However you want to say it, I don't like it.

Revoke my Black card if you must, but it's nasty.

So I say, with the macaroni and cheese and the collard greens touch, it feels like a rainbow bursting from my plate.

And that's how I feel being a part of that holy trinity.
