Saundra Dalton-SmithHostThat's that's so touches me because it makes me really think one of the conversations my children and I had early on in their walk with God and their reading of the Bible.
we were doing this Bible reading in a year plan and the reading started off.
It started off with Job actually for the very first book of the Bible we had visited in the beginning of the year.
And when you're reading through someone going through something very difficult like that, it's, You can almost relate to them saying, I'm not going to praise because this doesn't feel praiseworthy in the moment when they're in that.
And it sounds like when you were going through whatever this season and time was that you mentioned that as well, although you were going through it, you were open enough to hear the heart behind what this woman was saying.
That can lead to a whole different thing called spiritual bypass, right? Where we're like, well, I'm going to praise my way around the circumstance rather than through it with him.
So how can someone differentiate that? Because I know that stops a lot of people and it tries their faith in a different way because they're like, does God just want me to act like I'm not hurting? And I don't believe that's what he's asking us to do.
have come to just love the scriptures that focus on Christ the man, Jesus, fully God, but fully man, weeping.
And we could talk about it all day long that God in that moment, he's outside of Lazarus's tomb, knowing what's going to happen next, which is the resurrection of his friend, right? Coming back to life again.
And the promise of resurrection for every single man, woman, boy, girl, grandma, grandpa.
