Stockholm World Champs Overview4:02 – 10:37

Bernice KellyHost

4:02

So as we've said, and as the title of this episode would say, we're here today to really preview the World Championships in Stockholm, the long-awaited road to Stockholm as High Rocks has branded it this past season.

Bernice KellyHost

4:15

It's finally here.

Bernice KellyHost

4:16

happening on the 18th to the 21st of June at the Strawberry Arena.

Bernice KellyHost

4:21

I guess, Chris, first question to throw to you.

Bernice KellyHost

4:23

What's your thoughts on, have you looked into the venue? What's your thoughts on having it in this arena-type venue, as they've done for a few of the majors this season?

C

Chris BayensGuest

4:32

Yeah, I love it.

C

Chris BayensGuest

4:35

The arena races have obviously gone very well.

C

Chris BayensGuest

4:37

Phoenix was there.

C

Chris BayensGuest

4:38

Warsaw was in an arena.

C

Chris BayensGuest

4:41

So, look, I love it.

C

Chris BayensGuest

4:43

It I think it will make for pretty good racing conditions.

C

Chris BayensGuest

4:46

I have had a bit of a look at the weather.

C

Chris BayensGuest

4:48

I know it is the middle of their summer, but it's pretty mild.

C

Chris BayensGuest

4:54

I think it'll be a little bit warmer than what Warsaw was, so you probably won't see records fall.

C

Chris BayensGuest

5:01

But yeah, I've had a look at the stadium.

C

Chris BayensGuest

5:03

It looks pretty amazing.

C

Chris BayensGuest

5:05

I think it's a 50,000 or 60,000 seat stadium.

C

Chris BayensGuest

5:08

I'm not anticipating that many.

C

Chris BayensGuest

5:10

So I feel like the atmosphere in those arena races are just something else.

C

Chris BayensGuest

5:14

Yeah.

Bernice KellyHost

5:15

Yeah, I agree.

Bernice KellyHost

5:17

I love it.

Bernice KellyHost

5:17

Even just watching from the YouTube for some reason, I think the arena type feel gives a whole elevated kind of look, even as a production.

Bernice KellyHost

5:27

Ian, what about yourself? Like any thoughts on, have you actually been in live there for an arena type elite race? Yeah.

5:37

Actually, if I get there, this will be my first time in Sweden.
