Today we watched the 1939 cartoon Bars and Stripes Forever and also a little bit of a bonus called Porky's Breakdowns of 1939.

The first cartoon is about life in prison for a bunch of silly inmates, and then also towards the end they stage a prison break and only one guy gets out after singing a merry little tune, has a shootout with the police, and then gets brought back.

The second, the little bonus thing, is a blooper reel, in quotes, of a porky pig who is hammering a nail and hits his thumb and starts saying, oh, son of a ba-ba-ba, and starts stuttering or whatever.

And that happens multiple times until he finally says, son of a gun, and then turns to us and says, I bet you thought I was going to say, son of a bitch.

So what do we think of these two? I mean, one main short, and then the other one is more slight, but...
Yeah, the first is forgettable.
I don't recommend it.
And the bloopers did the funny thing.
It's like, you have to say it, though.
And he did.
And it's like, okay.
But it's fine.
It's whatever.
Who knew they knew what they were going to be doing and made a YouTube video way back then? Yeah, Warner Brothers could release that on TikTok and Instagram and stuff and YouTube shorts, and it would be perfectly formatted for it.
Except for the fact that it's not vertical, but that's fixable.

I literally was like... halfway i'm like what what are we doing like what what is the point what where are we going with this great i don't know it was just it was just kind of rambling and all over the place and i'm like like okay we're other than the only thing that was clear that was not like what the heck is the fact that they were in prison.
