Rashid GangaHostToday we are going to talk about sex education, how important it is to speak freely with the right information, not only at school or in the healthcare system, but also at home.
I am a PhD, uh, medical doctor, and my whole life I was a public health, uh, professional.
And of course, um, after the start of the HIV pand- pandemic, I could, um, see the impact of it in the riverside communities, the gay community, sex workers, and all the vulnerable population, and some close friends.
So that, um, what I did, uh, give me the schedule to, to be, uh, the director of the National, uh, Brazilian STI and HIV and Hepatitis Program in the Ministry of Health.
And for the past seven years, I work for AHF as the medical doctor director for the global program.

[laughs] Uh, my name is Rashid Ganga, and I am the associate director of legislative affairs and community engagement for AHF.

there are some questions about things that happened here when I was going to school, so let's get into it.

So I've lived in three countries now, and in each country I've lived in, there's been a very different experience with sexual education.

In Jamaica, I think I was probably too young to, to get sexual education, and my family's a little conservative.

Um, and then when I moved to the States, um, I was in Catholic school for my middle school years and high school, so that came with its own filters.
