Happy Halloween, Tombstoners!!!!!! It's thebest day of the year and to celebrate, we are bringing you our review of the new hit show, Crystal lake. This prequel series was one of our most anticipated…
I have not watched the Carrie show, but most of the shows that I've watched that are based on horror movies don't pan out.
I feel like they stuck the landing, and it is just exemplary detail.
The attention to detail is absolutely incredible in this.
As a Friday the 13th super fan, I both loved and was a little perplexed by like the amount of detail that was clearly given to like cinematography, sound design, lore.
But then on the other hand, there are a few weird things that are not correct.
And I'm like, how is this not correct? You spent this much time.
Yeah.
being so detail oriented.
How did you get these things basically clearly wrong? But it is overall, like those are just kind of nitpicks because I'm a super fan.
They're not, they don't affect the enjoyment of the show at all.
Yeah, I would say that all of my complaints are very minor.
The timeline is a little confusing.
All of the Friday the 13th movies take place in the 80s over the course of 35 years in the 80s.
And this show is in the 50s and 70s?
Yeah, the timeline is wrong.
The timeline is very incorrect.
I don't know why.
I would love to interview the creators and ask why.
Because this is set in 1972 for the most part.
And that isn't the original timeline.
The first movie is... was made in 1980 and takes place in 1980.
The fact that this is only eight years prior, I mean, I guess they make it make sense by the end, but I don't know what was their idea there.
They specifically wanted the hippies, so it needed to take place in the 70s, or they wanted the chief of police to be played by an African-American actor, so they wanted it to be post-civil rights movement.
I don't know.
I don't know what the logic is there.
