Geordie GreepGuestJordyHostyeah it's a cracking album this is maybe a slightly different question but you're an artist whose work has received a great amount of attention particularly online i'm interested in your feelings about the state of musical discourse

To be honest, there's a weird thing where sometimes you see people getting into artists and albums almost like getting into like trading cards or like Pokemon or something where it's like, oh, I've listened to this many albums.

And it's like, I've been of that mindset as well at some point in my, you know, when I was 14, 15 or something.

The problem is now because of the internet, People that are, you know, kids basically, have as much of an opportunity to reach an audience and espouse their views as anyone.

So it's like, there's a lot of, I think there's a lot of people myself included, who feel thankful that they weren't able to reach a big, a wide audience with what they were saying at that age.

Not because there's anything wrong with it, just because it's sometimes a bit naive, or a bit kind of... broad strokes kind of thing but sometimes you see really big like music accounts or something or really big kind of music uh blogs or something and it's clearly written by people that uh very passionate but still finding their way still finding a voice so you don't have to like at that age already have a list of your hundred favorite albums.

It's great, but you don't need to share it with the world and be definitively, this is my thing.

You think, is it like, man, who's any of us to say? Like, do you know what I mean? There's a- There's room for
everything.

And also there's a, there's an air of it, which is a bit like, okay guys, like, like just cool it down and just, you know, especially with the whole, um, there's like several websites that are basically like leaderboards for music.
Yeah.

It's the same with like, um, the one for movies, Letterboxd, which is just, it's cool, but it's like, it turns into a competition.

Who can have seen the most of this or that? And it's like, guys, it doesn't take any skill or...

It doesn't mean you're more intelligent or more passionate just because you've seen more things.

I remember one time a teacher said in school, you should never laugh at someone because they don't know something.
