I'm one of the hosts of this podcast where we talk to academics about their expertise, some fun facts and the things you need to know about their amazing work.

As well as asking the questions you'd expect, I'll be throwing some random ones at our guests just to see what secrets I can reveal.

Joining me today is Senior Lecturer in Marine Geosciences, Dr Marta Ribó.

Marta is originally from Spain and is an internationally renowned marine geoscientist whose research has focused primarily on understanding seabed geomorphology, hydrodynamic and sedimentary processes and seafloor characterisation.

She has participated in more than 20 oceanographic surveys across Aotearoa, New Zealand, Tonga and Spain.

And according to my notes, can speak four languages, English, French, Catalan and Spanish.
