Joining me today is Professor Regan Pōtangaroa of Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa, a global expert in humanitarian engineering and Māori-centered resilience.
Regan's academic expertise spans structural engineering, architecture, and disaster response.
He supported response and recovery efforts after earthquakes and cyclones in Aotearoa, and has completed more than 200 humanitarian deployments in 22 countries since 1996.
In 2023, he received the Royal Society's Te Ranga Unua Hiranga Māori Award for his commitment to helping people.
