The organization matches boys with positive, reliable adult men after a rigorous process that includes police checks, vetting and background checks.
Through spending a few hours with their teenage buddies each week, the brothers have seen how positive impact can be built in ordinary moments.
When we first started, I was wondering, what do I do with them every weekend? Do I go kayaking one weekend? Do I go sewing the next? Do I go rock climbing? And I just sort of said to myself, I don't do that with my kid.
So I thought, what I do with my kids is go to the park, kick a ball, do some barbecue, and play music.
And some of the big moments for me were I didn't realize how good my little buddy Jaden is at music.
He'd never played the drums before, never played the guitar before, sat down, and by ear, he could just play.
And then I remembered that one of the reasons they had paid me with Jaden was because of his interest in music and my interest in music.
I think Big Buddy also mentioned when you started, we're not looking for saints.
