Welcome to Her Half of History, an Evergreen podcast.
My name is Laurie.
Series 16 on The First Woman has closed out, and the vote on the topic of Series 17 is in.
It will be...
Women together.
There was no landslide this time.
It was down to the wire.
In the end, it surpassed Icons and Archetypes by exactly two votes.
If you were hoping for one of the other topics, don't worry.
I'm not going anywhere.
There will be future series and future elections.
Icons and Archetypes will get their day eventually.
But for Series 17, I'm currently researching episodes on Vestal Virgins, Medieval Nuns, Female Soldiers in Africa, the Women's March on Versailles, the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention, and many more.
Basically, if it's something women did together, I'm considering it.
The outline of the series is not yet set in stone, so if you have an idea that would fit, please send me an email.
I have loved your suggestions in the past.
We've gotten some really great episodes that way on topics I never would have thought of.
I can make no promises, as it all depends on how many suggestions I get, whether I can find sources, etc.
But send your ideas along, and I'll give them a think.
As per usual, I do need a bit of time to prepare the next series, but in the meantime, there will be the short episodes on this day in women's history, plus the annual Halloween episode is ready for the beginning of October, and then somewhere in that month, the Women Together series will start.
🎵 I really appreciate all of you who listen, and I have a special thanks today to Eva who signed up as a Patreon supporter.
