This Could Be The Hawks Next Big Swing... | Daily Hawks News & Rumors

So we were talking about the trade the day before.

Uh, maybe could've been yesterday as well.

We talked about it a few days in a row, 'cause, uh, initially I thought Dorian Finney-Smith was like a, a 30 or, no, like, a 25 [laughs] year old guard, 'cause I remembered him from Dallas, okay? Lay off me.

I didn't, I d- I didn't remember.

Um, but that trade went through with the Charlotte Hornets.

Buddy Hield and Ryan Nembhard, plus cash considerations to Charlotte for Dorian Finney-Smith.

Um, so let's look at some of the ...

It's a $2.1 million trade exception, and the Hornets create a $4.5 million trade exception in the deal.

So we got rid of that, that, that salary we didn't really want when it comes to Buddy Hield.

That was about $10 million.

I think Ryan Nembhard was, like, four and a half million.

And the bigger thing there, though, is we cleared up some roster space.

We knew that we had some issues to get down to 15.

We had some guards.

We've talked about this at length.

We've had guards that ...

We were loaded in the gray area guards, is what I've been calling them.

You know, like, we had Carter, Nembhard, Hield.

We still have Kispert, who ...

I guess, look, if you wanna answer some questions there on who they like better, um, Kispert would be a guy that, uh, apparently either we can't g- move ...

I think he's got a two-year deal still, or two years left, um, at, like, 14 million, or I think it's averaged out, so I think it's, like, 14 a season on, like, a $31 million deal.

Um, and maybe we're thinking Kispert, they're thinking he is a better shooter than he's had the time to show.

He only had half the season last year, and it, it wasn't great.

He didn't really mesh.

Um, but we did, we changed the, the face of our offense.
